Masdar Clean Power Generation Rises 38% as Global Portfolio Reaches 66.5GW

UAE-based renewable energy developer Masdar has reported a 38% year-over-year increase in clean power generation, reaching 40.2 terawatt-hours (TWh) in its latest annual operating cycle. According to the company’s 13th Annual Sustainability Report released in late September 2026, Masdar’s total global portfolio has officially expanded to 66.5 gigawatts (GW), keeping the company on a clear trajectory to meet its 100GW capacity target by 2030.

The rapid growth was driven by disciplined investments across strategic markets, including a significant expansion of the company’s European offshore wind and solar platform. Capacity from projects currently in operation or under construction increased by approximately 40%, climbing from 32GW to 45.8GW. The 40.2 TWh generated throughout the year successfully avoided an estimated 19.5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions.

To fund its continued global expansion, Masdar also heavily leveraged capital markets in 2026. Following the publication of its updated Green Finance Framework, the company issued a $1 billion green bond, which was 6.6 times oversubscribed and drew $6.6 billion in orders. International investors secured 85% of the issuance, reflecting strong global market confidence in the developer’s large-scale clean energy pipeline.
