New Zealand Sells More Goods Overseas in April

Tauranga, May 22 (Yaoxin) —New Zealand sold more goods to other countries in April. Its exports rose 12 percent from the same month last year, reaching 8.6 billion New Zealand dollars.

Stats NZ said the value of exports was 943 million New Zealand dollars higher than in April 2025. Most of the growth came from four main areas: meat, dairy products, gold, and crude oil.

Meat exports had a strong month. They rose 26 percent to 1.3 billion New Zealand dollars, helped by higher sales of beef and sheep meat.

Dairy exports also grew. Products such as milk powder, butter, and cheese rose 7 percent to 2.3 billion New Zealand dollars. Milk powder was the biggest part of this increase.

Gold exports rose sharply to 262 million New Zealand dollars, with much of the gold going to Australia. Crude oil exports also rose to 151 million New Zealand dollars, though these numbers can change a lot from month to month because they depend on large shipments.
