Tauranga, May 22 (Yaoxin) —New Zealand’s kiwifruit company Zespri had a very strong year in the 2025/26 season, as more people around the world bought its fruit.
The company said its fruit sales reached 5.9 billion New Zealand dollars, higher than 5 billion New Zealand dollars the year before. It also sold 248.1 million trays of kiwifruit, up from 220.9 million trays last season.
Zespri’s total operating revenue was 6.13 billion New Zealand dollars. Its profit after tax rose to 280.1 million New Zealand dollars. Even without money from licenses, the company still made a record profit of 123.8 million New Zealand dollars, compared with 79.8 million New Zealand dollars in the previous season.
Chief Executive Jason Te Brake said the company had a record crop, even though the business world was harder and more uncertain. He said sales were especially strong in Europe and North America, which helped balance weaker results in some other markets.
